Dimapur, Oct. 30 (EMN): The Transport authorities have stipulated the limit for the number of permits that are to be issued to two-wheel taxis in Nagaland. A government notification listing the number of permits show that only about 100 at maximum has been given. Dimapur and Kohima have the highest number of permits, at 100 each.
The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) gave updates on October 30 informing about a notice from the department of Transport.
The Transport department issued a notification stating the limit in continuation of the department's notification dated August 8 2019 and in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 95 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, the IPR stated.
Further, the authorities have ordered that both the driver and the pillion rider shall wear a uniform colour code of yellow helmet. All other conditions will remain the same, the IPR stated from the notification.
