Transport dept. to introduce Vahan, Sarathi application soon

Dimapur, Aug. 29 (EMN): Keeping pace with the changing needs for more efficient and speedy service delivery and total transparency, the Transport department is adopting the latest application of Vahan 4.0 and Sarathi 4.0 for registration of vehicles and issue of driving license along with other services. Regional transport officer, Kohima, Keneingunuo Clara, said this application is web base and all processes and required for vehicle registration and issue of license will be done in all real time basis. The Kohima regional office will be adopting this application very shortly, she informed. This application enables realisation of all the taxes and fees with late fines. For instances, as per Government of India, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways notification no. G. S. R. 1183(E) dated 29-12-2016, a sum of INR 300 per month is imposed for every two-wheeler, INR 500 per month for non-transport vehicles and INR 50 per day for transport vehicles as late fine after expiry of certificate of fitness. The transport officer said that the department has been catering public services without any prejudice and is readily available to do so in all government working days. To provide timely, quality, and speedy delivery of services, the office appealed to all the vehicle owners and driving license holders to update vehicle taxes, fees and validate your driving license, trade certificate, and road permits to avoid fines and inconveniences before Oct. 31.
