Technical failure at Ganeshnagar sub-station disrupts power supply across Chümoukedima areas as replacement transformer and restoration efforts begin.
DIMAPUR — A technical failure of a 33/11kV, 5 MVA power transformer at the Ganeshnagar sub-station early Thursday disrupted electricity supply to several parts of Chümoukedima district, the Department of Power informed.
According to the department, the transformer developed a technical fault at around 3 am on August 6, resulting in an outage for all consumers served by the Ganeshnagar sub-station. The affected areas include Aqahuto, Dhansiripar, Doyapur, the Hebron Camp area, Razaphe and neighbouring villages.
The department added that efforts were underway to arrange a replacement transformer and restore power supply at the earliest, although no timeline for restoration was immediately available.
Expressing regret over the disruption, it appealed to consumers for their cooperation and understanding while restoration works are carried out.
