Kohima, March 13: The annual twelve-day Christian event, the ‘Transformation Crusade’ is set to begin from March 15 till the 26th. With the theme ‘Arise and Shine’ (Isaiah 10:1), the crusade will be conducted at Khuochiezie (local ground) in Kohima town at 4:30 pm every evening.
Describing the event as unique, senior pastor of Koinonia Baptist Church Rev Zotuo Kiewhuo said during a press conference on Monday afternoon that although crusades have been conducted in the state, none so far has ‘tried to deal with Satan worshippers in the past.’
The crusade has been successful, he said, with many of those who were involved in or were possessed by the ‘spirit of darkness’ being delivered. They enjoy the joys of deliverance and some of whom are involved in Christian ministry today, he said.
Also, the secretary of the organising committee, Khriehuzo Lohe, informed that six anointed speakers will be delivering the message of God. 23 pastors from various churches in Kohima will invoke God’s blessings; 41 prayer groups will continuously pray for the programme.
Lohe said that around 15-20 musicians will be participating in the programme; four bands will be leading the praise and worship session while 130 counsellors will be available at all times during the programme for those in need of counselling.
About 250 volunteers from various churches in Kohima will be helping as well. The service will be conducted in ‘Nagamese’ for convenience of the congregation.
Besides ‘deliverance’ and counselling, the crusade will have a session on healing during which prayers will be said for the sick, and alcoholics and drug addicts.
Rev Zotuo Kiewhuo has sought support and participation of nongovernmental organisations and the government ‘to wipe out the evil practices plaguing the society.’ He appealed to churches in Kohima, which has about 80-100, to take care of their members through ‘spiritual feeding’ during and after the crusade. This aspect is very important, he said.
The speakers are Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho, general secretary of the NBCC; Rev Zotuo Kiewhuo, senior pastor of Koinonia Baptist Church; Rev Neivotso Neikha, mission director of the North East India Christian Revival Church; Velavoyi Keyho, pastor of Phezoucha Nagamese Baptist Church, Kohima; Rokopra Mekro, associate pastor of Koinonia Prayer Centre and Mhoncumo S Lotha, associate pastor of Lotha Baptist Church of Kohima.
The organisers have invited believers and churches in Kohima irrespective of denominations, and the public to participate in the crusade to ‘reactivate their spiritual life and to be blessed.’
