Dimapur, Dec. 28 (EMN): The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), department of Rural Development, organised one-day training on sustainable agriculture and livestock for the village-level organisations (VLOs) members and Community Service Providers (CSPs) under RD Block Meluri, Phek at Block Ghar earlier this month.
The training programme was chaired by Zapoyi Sapu, BPM Meluri and the keynote address was delivered by Shuyhunle Nyenthong, BDO Meluri.
Nyenthong acknowledged the contribution of women towards family and the society. She also emphasised on the power and impact of a ‘prayerful mother’ which bears much fruit. A good home will further impact the society and the whole community.
He also encouraged Self Help Groups (SHGs) members, who have come from different villages, to go back and play a positive role starting from their own kitchens. She also highlighted the importance of livestock and agriculture at the grass root level.
Resource persons Shupitho Katiry and Savepa Khesoh, Area Coordinators (Livelihoods), spoke on the topics Integrated Farming System (IFS), Pest Control and Management, Piggery and Poultry farming, Resin Extraction Method and importance of conserving forest. There was also demonstration of making Low Cost Zero Energy Chamber at the event.
