DIMAPUR — A one-day training session on the online civil registration system for rural registrars of births and deaths was conducted on March 1 at the District Economics and Statistics Office’s conference hall in Wokha.

According to a DIPR report, ADC Wokha K Furhesie Nyuwi, who addressed the trainees, stated that this application is a common solution for birth, death, and stillbirth registration and certificate generation across the country, providing centralised data management of all records.

He also said that the application is critical for socioeconomic planning and urged trainees to properly verify personal details during the registration process.

District economics and statistics officer (DESO) Wokha, Chubathung Ezung, provided a brief introduction, emphasising the adoption of online registration for births and deaths. He urged all rural registrars to adhere to the new guidelines and conduct registrations accordingly.

He also mentioned that similar training programmes took place at Bhandari and Sanis sub-division on February 28 and 29, respectively.

Lothungbeni, FI, District Economics and Statistics Office, Wokha, briefed the trainees on the implementation of the online registration system.
