Training on food processing underway at Mokokchung

Mokokchung, Aug. 22 (EMN): A two-day training on food processing and value addition for SHGs under divisional management unit Mokokchung got underway at Forest Complex, Marepkong, Mokokchung, on Monday.

A total of 27 SHGs from nine villages - Mongsenyimti, Mopungchuket, Changtongya New, Sungratsu, Longmisa, Chakpa, Yaongyimsen, Merangkong and Salulamang are participating in the programme.

The programme is organised by the DMU Mokokchung under NFMP JICA Project in co-ordination with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mokokchung.

In the inaugural programme, divisional forest officer, Mokokchung, Dr. Sentitula, gave the keynote address followed by inaugural speech by senior scientist and head KVK, Mokokchung, Dr. Keviletsu Khate. Team leader (FNGO), Akumtoshi, chaired the inaugural programme.

Technical officer, KVK, Mokokchung, Moaienla Longkumer, chaired the technical session.

The topics to be covered in the two-day training include sterilisation and bamboo shoot pickle, green chilli pickle, squash and RTS, jam (pineapple and papaya), ginger candy and tapioca chips.
