Dimapur, April 21 (EMN): Two-day training for middle level officers on climate change was organised by Administrative Training Institute (ATI) Nagaland for different departments of Nagaland concluded on April 21 at ATI complex Kohima.
Assistant Professor, Ura College of Teachers Education Kohima, Dr. Petevino Chase who was the main resource person spoke on weather, climate change, greenhouse gases, greenhouse effect, global warming and its consequences.
On the first day, video on climate change was shown to the participants. She said that climate change is a change of climate in the long term weather patterns which can be extremely hot or cold.
Hence, climate change is a matter of public concern and all responsible persons at national and international level, she added. She said as a result of climate change diseases such as cardio vascular, respiratory disorder, stroke and the spread of viral diseases like malaria and dengue fever affect human beings.
Further, she challenged the Government agencies to create more awareness on climate change so as to protect the state from the global crisis.
