Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): Extension Education Institute - North East Region (EEI - NER) of the Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat, in collaboration with State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), organised an off-campus training on “Agri-entrepreneurship development through agriculture extension” from October 15 to the 18th at SAMETI, Medziphema.
The resource persons were Dr. AK Bhattacharya, professor EEI at Assam Agriculture University (AAU), Jorhat, and Madhusmita Dutta, research associate of EEI (AAU) Jorhat.
An update from Dr. Watimongla, director in-charge of SAMETI and principal of IETC, stated that the resource persons have highlighted on the important role of entrepreneurship in the context of developing nation like India with a major socio-economic problems.
Resource persons also stated that successful entrepreneurs should have the management skills like planning, organising, directing and controlling for entrepreneurship development.
During the technical session, resource persons dwelled on writing technique of success story on extension and development programme and analysis of different risk project management in enterprises.
Participants also interacted with a progressive farm woman Thejanuo at Seitheikima ‘A’ under Chumoukedima block in Dimapur district. The update stated that she bore an exemplary personality towards women farming and empowerment through self employment.
At the valedictory function, the course director Dr. AK Bhattacharya spoke on the importance and qualities of good entrepreneurs to start a new organisation. He also congratulated the trainees on completing the training programme with much enthusiasm and participation. He further appreciated SAMETI Nagaland for extending cooperation and making the training programme a success.
