Health Department conducts training for malaria technical supervisors in Kohima.

DIMAPUR — A two-day refresher training for malaria technical supervisors (MTS) was conducted on April 7 and 8 at the conference hall of the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare (DHFW), Kohima.
An update from the Health Department stated that the training programme began with an introductory session and welcome address delivered by Dr. Imnapokim, joint director and State Programme Officer (SPO).
The training covered key technical and programmatic areas including recording and reporting, IEC/ BCC activities, malaria entomology, introduction to malaria and the life cycle of the malaria parasite as well as case detection using RDT and blood slide examination.

Resource persons of the training included Dr. NI Singh, additional senior regional director at regional office for Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, Imphal, Dr. RC Dhiman, technical director at TCIF India; Kikolul Khieya, assistant director of UVBDS; Imsubenla, consultant of PH and training; Marykali Yepthomi, consultant of IEC/ BCC; Ameri Savi, state lab technician; and Ropfweve Kosa, finance consultant.
Report stated that the training concluded with closing remarks and distribution of certificates led by Dr. Tinurenla Anichari, joint director of the department.
The training was organised by the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) with a participation of 74 MTS.
