
DIMAPUR — In a run up to the 100 days intensified campaign on tuberculosis (TB) elimination, the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP), Wokha, organised a one-day sensitisation-cum-awareness training for healthcare workers at the office of the chief medical officer’s conference hall in Wokha town on Friday.
The resource person of the training, Dr. Akum Jamir, district TB officer Wokha, informed that Wokha has been identified as a high focused district for a 100 days intensified campaign on TB elimination from December 7 to March 17, 2025. He further stated that the objective of the campaign was to accelerate tuberculosis case detection, reduce mortality and prevent new cases through focused intervention in districts with the highest TB burden in a stratified approach, an update from the CMO stated.
During the training, topics on screening and preventive treatment for vulnerable population, elimination of TB by 2024 etc. were discussed.
The healthcare workers were informed to conduct sensitisation and awareness activities at their respective areas in the district during the campaign period.
The training was attended by CHO, ANM, BPM, UPHC consultant, DCM and block ASHA coordinators.
