Training for health workers held in Phek

Dimapur, Jan. 17 (EMN): Phek district has conducted a district-level training on electronic vaccine intelligent network (eVIN) and immunisation on January 14 in the conference hall of the District Hospital, Phek.

The training was held for cold chain handlers and ANM from all the blocks for strengthening and improvement of vaccine supply chain management and immunisation in the district, an update from the chief medical office (CMO), Phek, stated on Friday.

During the training, CMO Dr Vibeituonuo Mepfuo encouraged the health workers to be sincere in their duties and mobilise the parents to immunise their children under their respective health units so as to achieve full immunisation coverage in the district.

The resource persons Kingson Kamkara, UNDP senior project officer; Imli Longkumer, UNDP project officer; and Dr Kolhitso Khalo, DPO RCH/UIP Phek; have re-oriented the health workers on immunisation service, planning and conducting of immunisation, important components of routine immunisation micro plan, intensification of RI activities, managing an immunisation session etc.

The resource persons also trained the cold chain handlers on electronic vaccine intelligent network (eVIN) on how to maintain vaccine distribution register for immunisation.

Altogether, 71 persons have participated in the training programme.
