Training centre PwD inaugurated in Mokokchung

Sharingain Longkumer inaugurating the training centre for differently-abled persons at the office premises of Care and Support Society in Mokokchung on October 8.

Mokokchung, Oct. 9 (EMN): A training centre for person with disability (PwD) was inaugurated at Care and Support Society Office (C&SS) in Mokokchung by the Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer, on October 8.

Care and Support Society is a non-governmental organisation established in 1995.

Currently, five programmes undertaken by C&SS included mobile ICTC, family counseling centre, targeted intervention (TI), childline 1098 and children home.

The training centre for the differently-abled persons will be the sixth programme initiated by the NGO. The main objective of instituting the training centre was to help the differently-abled persons, discover their abilities and to train them with various vocational training to enable them earned their livelihood. Besides, it aims to empower them and make society an absolutely inclusive society for them.

At the programme, three persons with disability were given sewing machines donated by Sharingain Longkumer and Bonita Gurung.

"The imaginative power of a differently-abled person is enhanced better than a normal person..... Any art created by disabled persons through the training provided by the training centre, will be helped to promote by me and my family," said Sharingain Longkumer in speech.
