A source from the railway police force (RPF) said that the train engine No. NR 14847 WDG-3A LDH hit the dead end and derailed while shunting; adding that the railway department has initiated an investigation into the cause of the incident.

When asked if the movement of train has been effected, the RPF officer said it’s not affected as the main rail track is available for plying. However, it was informed that putting the derailed engine back on track would take time due to limited working hours as trains arrive and pass the route during evening and at night.

The officer went on to inform that the cause of the incident would be make known only after the railway department completes the investigation and that no casualty was reported.
