Republic Day celebrations introduce Traffic regulations

Dimapur, Jan. 24 (EMN): In view of the 71st Republic Day celebration at Secretariat Plaza, Kohima, on January 26, Kohima police has issued traffic regulations which would be enforced as part of the security arrangement.

According to PRO Kohima police, only vehicles with car pass ‘Z’ (red) and car pass ‘Y’ (blue) would be allowed entry to the Secretariat Plaza. Vehicles with car pass ‘X’ (green) would drop their respective officers at the main gate and should be parked outside the Secretariat complex.

Vehicles without car passes would not be allowed to enter the Secretariat complex and be parked along the Assembly Secretariat road.

No vehicles including two-wheelers would be allowed to park by the roadside on January 26 from 6 am onwards till the republic day programme is over. It included from Raj Bhavan to New Secretariat complex, New CM official residence at Phezoucha to New Secretariat complex, and no driver should be allowed to move out from their vehicles to avoid any sabotage in the parked vehicles.

It added that heavy vehicles would not be allowed to ply in Kohima town till the republic day programme is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 7 am.

While anticipating positive co-operation from the public, it stated that police would tow away the defaulting vehicles and the charges be borne by the vehicle owners.
