Dimapur — In view of the G20 Business Summit scheduled in Kohima from April 4 to the 6th, various programmes are planned at different locations in the city. To ensure smooth conduct of the summit and in the interest of public convenience, Kohima Police has issued traffic regulations for three days.
In this regard, police has declared the locations from Aradura Retreat to TCP Gate via Mohonkhola/ BOC/ PHQ Jn/ Classic Island/ SKV petrol pump, TCP Gate to High School Junction via Phoolbari/ Old NST/ Razhu Point/ Kezieke/ Teenpati and from High School Junction to Vivor Hotel via Ruzhukhrie GHSS/ DUDA Guest House as no parking zones.
A police report issued by PRO of DEF Kohima informed that any vehicle parked within or in the ROW (right of way) of a two lane road within Kohima municipal limits would be towed away for which the charges would be borne by the vehicle owner.
It informed that vehicles with car pass ‘Z’ would be parked at the CCH, while vehicles with car pass ‘D’ would be parked at the location (mela ground), opposite CCH, and vehicles with car pass ‘Y’ would be parked at the multi-level car parking at old medical directorate.
Police informed that vehicles with car pass ‘Z’ would be parked at the CM’s official complex, while vehicles with car pass ‘D’ would be parked outside the CM’s official complex and vehicles with car pass ‘Y’ would be parked opposite the multi-purpose hall below legislators home.
It informed that vehicles with car pass ‘Z’ and ‘D’ would be parked at the main parking lot at the Heritage Village and along the Main arena, while vehicles with car pass ‘Y’ would be parked at the Kisama amphitheatre and others without car pass would be parked at the parking lot opposite 2nd Gate.
Police also informed that parking facilities would be available at multi-level car parking lot at old NST and old medical directorate free of cost from April 3 to the 6th. Vehicle owners are advised to use the facilities to avoid any inconvenience and congestion.
It stated that parking lot near Hotel Crescent International would be reserved for delegates of the B-20 Summit.
Meanwhile, police would enforce no entry for heavy vehicles within Kohima town from 6 am to 9 pm for those three days. The restriction would be enforced at inter-state Khuzama check gate and Duzdza bridge.
Kohima Police has sought cooperation from all citizens to ensure smooth conduct of the G20 Business Summit.
In view of G20 Business Summit, police has declared the whole area under Kohima municipality as ‘No drone zone’ with effect from April 4 to the 6th as part of security arrangements.
It stated that flying of any remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) such as drones, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) etc. would be restricted and violation of the directive would amount to suspension or cancellation of the UIN/ UAOP of the RPA issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and be prosecuted under relevant section of laws.
