Dimapur, May 9 (EMN): For the safety of the people and to ease traffic congestion, the deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi, on Saturday informed that hardware shops will be opened from 5 am to 9 am with effect from Monday.
Informing this during the district task force meeting in the conference hall of DC's office, Khinchi stated that odd-even system of traffic regulation, barricading of certain areas and issues with regard to border sealing to be strictly implemented, an update from the DIPR stated.
The DC, while reminding that lockdown was still in force, appealed to all the citizens to follow the guidelines, maintain social distancing and not to move unnecessarily unless urgently required. He also expressed gratitude to NGOs, civil organisations and the citizens for their support and co-operation thus far in the fight against Covid-19.
The DC reminded the shops to take precautionary measures such as use of hand sanitiser and providing facilities for hand washing with soap and water for the public as well as for staff, regularly cleaning and disinfecting door handles, surfaces and other objects which are frequently touched, and mandatory social distancing and wearing of face mask for salespersons and shopkeepers.
Dimapur Commissioner of Police Rothihu Tetseo assured that police would give their best in regard to traffic regulation, but sought public participation for successful implementation of the new traffic system.
Inter-state movement for patients relaxed
In a separate notification, the Dimapur DC informed that inter-state movement for people seeking medical treatment has been relaxed, but movement of individuals is still restricted.
Any patient seeking treatment of non-Covid-19 illnesses in Dimapur from neighbouring states shall be required to produce movement permit from their respective district authorities mentioning that the case is a medical emergency, the notice said.
