TR Zeliang urges cooperation for NH 129A construction

facilitation meeting for National Highway 129A, package-I, Peren town portion,
was held at the Town Hall in Peren on February 11, with Deputy Chief Minister
and Minister in charge of Planning & Transformation and National Highways,
TR Zeliang, as the honoured guest.
- The deputy CM, speaking on the occasion, emphasised the
importance of good roads and encouraged the public to cooperate with the
district administration and settle the damage compensation as soon as possible,
according to an update.
- He also informed that the technical evaluation is underway at
the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited
(NHIDCL) headquarters, with four firms participating in the bidding. The period
for completion would be 18 months from the appointed date. The successful
implementation of this project will transform the face of Peren town.
- The Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Hiazu Meru, said that good
roads will promote development and progress in the region. He encouraged the
public leaders of Peren town to hold regular and timely meetings in order to
support the development process and assist the workers.
- The landowners and affected landowners openly declared their
willingness to cooperate and provide their land for the welfare of the public.
- Deputy General Manager (projects) NHIDCL, PMU-Dimapur, Anand
Kumar, highlighting the NH 129A package-I Peren town portion project, stated
that the 129A Peren to Dimapur section starts from the Dzukou River Steel
Bridge (Manipur) border to 7th Mile, Chümoukedima, with a total length of
approximately 81 km, divided into six packages.
