CHIEF Minister TR Zeliang, Lok Sabha MP and former Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Home Minister Y Patton have expressed deep pain over the death of Mrs. Oreno Patton, wife of Rev. Yankey Patton, former State Chaplain, who passed away on July 27.
“She has been a source of strength to you in your spiritual journey besides being a kind and a perfect mother to your children,” the Chief Minister said in his condolence message to Rev. Patton. Zeliang said her death has caused a huge vacuum in the family and in the lives of relatives and dear ones. Conveying deepest condolences to the bereaved family, the CM prayed to give them strength to tide over the irreparable loss and also for eternal peace of the departed soul.
In his condolence message, Rio said late Mrs Patton lived a life dedicated to the service of the Lord and always made sincere efforts towards helping her fellow brothers and sisters while describing her as a devoted wife and a loving mother. He also said late Mrs Patton faced several challenges and made significant sacrifices along with her husband in the service of the Lord and in working for humanity. Rio said she will be missed by a multitude of people, including his family members, to whom she extended unconditional love and care.
Rio recalled that her husband was the State Chaplain when he was a minister and also when he became Chief Minister and added that the spiritual leadership provided by them to all the legislators, especially to his family members, was of great benefit and guidance to all of them.
“We will always cherish the fond memories which we shared together,” Rio said.
Extending deepest condolences to the bereaved family, Rio pryed to grant them peace and solace in this time of grief and to let the departed soul rest in peace.
Expressing deep grief over the death, Home Minister Y Patton said late Mrs Orinyimi Patton was a faithful and God-fearing lady who had immensely contributed her Christian oriented services to the people and was behind the successful services of her husband as the State Chaplin during the past few years.
She led an exemplary life of a true Christian and for those who knew her closely was worth knowing and cherishing her, Patton said.
“With her untimely demise, we have lost a devoted and an idol mother,” he said.
Conveying his condolences to Rev. Yankey Patton and to the bereaved family, Patton prayedto grant them strength to bear the loss and for eternal rest of the departed soul.
