Dimapur, Feb. 12: Tenyimi People’s Organisation (TPO) has expressed pain by the consequent incidents falling out of the Government of Nagaland’s decision to conduct election to the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
TPO said what could have been resolved through patience, understanding and dialogue has been overtaken by denial, arrogance and obstinacy.
In a press statement, TPO president Timikha Koza and general secretary Vipopal Kintso stated the TPO also observed that Government has not been true to the people and is totally devoid of principles, especially in view of the tripartite agreement that was signed on January 30, with the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) and the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), whereby it was agreed upon to defer the ULB election but reneged unceremoniously.
“Without mutual trust and good faith the government and its people will never prosper,” TPO added.
The organization also condemned in the highest term the acts of the Government that has led to the ultimate lost of lives, grievous injuries and damage of valued properties in various parts of Nagaland.
“It torments no ends that most precious lives of Bendangnungsang and Khriesavizo Metha have been snatched away owing to situation arising out of the Government’s decision,” added TPO. It prayed for the departed souls to rest in eternal peace and strength to mitigate the sorrow of the family members.
