DIMAPUR, MAY 21 (EMN): Parliamentary Secretary for Economics and Statistics, Tovihoto Ayemi, graced the Hindu Yuva Sanga (HYS) organised its 4th Open Drawing Competition-cum-Felicitation Programme for HSLC & HSSLC merit holders 2017, at Pranab Jubilee Auditorium, Dimapur on Sunday.
Addressing the students as a chief guest, Ayemi appreciated the HYS for its endeavours conveyed though the Sanga, creating opportunities and providing platforms to students and youth. Such activities he remarked keep the young population engaged with meaningful activities.
Reflecting on the competition, Ayemi said ‘art does not only enhance creativity but has overreaching positive impact on a child’s academic and overall growth’.
He said children these days learn more from visual art while accentuating on the need to revive and appreciate art and nature. ‘There is no shortcut to success but only through hard work’ he encouraged the students while acknowledging their effort and dedication.
Ayemi also reminded the students that their success was just the beginning and encouraged them to strive ahead with consistency.
Guest of honour, principal of Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS), Monoj Bhattacharjee called on the parents to encourage their children to partake in such competitions.
Instead of engaging with modern gadgets participating in such contests will bring positive development and fruitful usage of time, he stated.
In his message to the toppers, Monoj reminded them that they are not ordinary as they have become role models, especially for the juniors. He advised them that their next step should be to remain honest and meaningful.
Winners of the drawing competition are: Prem Debnath (Category A), Zaara Abdul (Category B), Repesh Roy (Category C) and Ashim Paul (Category D).
