- DIMAPUR — A Tovi
Chophi, a dedicated philanthropist and social reformer from Nagaland, was
conferred award for grassroots transformation and youth empowerment during the
Sundarshan News Conclave.
- An update stated that Chophi’s unwavering commitment to
youth empowerment, community development and sustainable livelihood initiatives
has transformed lives across rural regions of the northeast.
- The award was presented by Chirag Paswan, Union Minister of
Food Processing, Government of India, in the presence of Dr. Suresh Chavhanke,
chief managing director and editor-in-chief of Sudarshan News, alongside
distinguished guests and dignitaries attending the conclave.

- It stated that Chophi’s work in integrating eco-friendly
technologies with traditional knowledge systems has been instrumental in
fostering self-reliance and environmental stewardship among marginalised
communities.
- “From supporting women’s self-help groups to empowering
youth collectives, his efforts exemplify the spirit of seva (service) and
sustainable development,” the statement read.
- Report stated that the recognition reaffirmed the vital role
of grassroots leadership in building a stronger, inclusive, and environmentally
conscious India. It further stated that Chophi’s journey is a testament to the
power of community-driven change and continues to inspire across regional and
national platforms.
