Police make 2 more arrest, issue another ‘look out notice’

The district administration has revoked the curfew from Dimapur w.e.f. 6 am of March 13 in view of the improvement in the law and order situation. The authorities imposed the prohibitory orders promulgated under Sec.144 CrPC in Dimapur town since March 4 in the wake of deteriorating law and order situation.
“…..Whereas law and order situation has improved and there is no immediate apprehension of a situation likely to disturb public peace or damage public property. Therefore in supersession of this office’s previous order dated 11th March 2015, Prohibitory Orders promulgated under Sec 144 CrPC in Dimapur town is hereby revoked w.e.f 6 am the 13th of March 2015,” read an order issued by Kesonyu Yhome, IAS, District Magistrate, Dimapur.
The ban on SMS has also been lifted since 6 pm on March 12. However, the ban on mobile internet services will continue till 6 pm of March 13, informed Wabang Jamir, IGP (Range).
Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested two more persons today for their alleged involvement in the lynching of the rape accused by a mob on March 5. The police have so far arrested 50 persons in total. Most of the arrested persons are students while one person is a government school teacher and another is an employee of Indigo Airlines, informed the police.
Statements of the arrested persons have been taken and the police are analyzing it, said the IGP (Range) while addressing media persons. All efforts are being made to arrest the people involved, however most of the persons who have been identified are absconding, he added.
He revealed that most of the communications about the rally was done through social media like whatsapp and blogs. The IGP (Range) also informed that the government has written to Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) to ban Facebook group Nagaspears and Nagablog however no response has been received, he added.
Police, on Thursday, have given another look out notice for 12 more persons involved in the March 5 incident. Police have also sent photographs of people those who were directly involved in the March 5 incident to other districts, said Wabang Jamir IGP (Range).
