Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Public Relations Torechu was frisked by unidentified persons at three different locations near Kiphire town on Monday.
Condemning such arbitrary acts targeting an innocent leader in any manner, should not occur in a civilized society, two Parliamentary Secretaries R Tohanba and Keajong Chang have urged the law enforcing authorities to book the persons involved in the incident as per law of the land.The Pungro Area College Students’ Union (PACSU) has vehemently condemned the incident of waylaying of Parliamentary Secretary T Torechu and his entourage by some miscreants while they were on their way to Pungro on Monday. It urged the law enforcing agencies to immediately investigate the case, book and award befitting punishment to the culprits.
Demanding that those unscrupulous elements be eliminated from the society, the union said it is very unfortunate that even the responsible leader has not been spared.
“It is very saddening that Nagas today are experiencing insecurity even at home,” it said while adding that the unscrupulous elements continue to create fear psychosis disrupting the congenial atmosphere.
