IN commemoration of the annual Tokhü Emong, the premier festival of the Lotha Naga tribe, women of the community under the aegis of the Lotha Eloe Ekhüng of Dimapur (LEED) organized a ‘Tokhü Buffet’ on Friday November 6. The buffet was conducted in the Lotha Hoho Ki community hall in Dimapur town.
The buffet was an affair to foster oneness. Families and friends dined together, sharing food over unfolding accounts of stories and belonging.
Tokhü Emong, which is a post-harvest feast, is also a celebration of forgiveness, and unity. Truly, the “Tokhü Buffet” was scrumptious to visitors. Proceeds made through the Tokhü Buffet will be employed for educational purposes for students. An interesting element of the Tokhü Buffet was indigenous inputs: supplies, serving materials and food matter used in the buffet were entirely home grown from Wokha district. The participants in the buffet had a night to remember to take with them indigenous taste and indigenous delights.
