DIMAPUR — Holy Redeemer Church, Tobu, celebrated its golden jubilee on Friday with Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, as the chief celebrant of the Holy Eucharistic celebration.
The historic occasion was attended by a large gathering of priests, nuns and Catholic faithful from various parishes and centres across Nagaland, an update stated.
Public leaders and pastors from Baptist churches of Tobu area also attended the event, reflecting the spirit of unity and inter-faith harmony.
The monolith was blessed by Bishop James Thoppil and unveiled by Yangba Konyak, DIGP Kohima.

During the Holy Eucharist celebration, 59 children received their first holy communion, while 54 faithful received the sacrament of confirmation.
Bishop James Thoppil, in his homily, congratulated the parishioners on reaching this significant golden milestone and encouraged the community to remain firm in their faith and serve God with humility while continuing to build a vibrant and spiritually strong parish.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Davidson Ngushu, while John Khangnyu felicitated the delegates and invitees.
Special numbers were presented by the SABS Sisters and Diocesan Brothers, and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Changku Augustine.
