Students in Tobu, under Mon district, have handed over a person who is said to have been transporting liquor in his vehicle, the previous week. Leaders of the Tobu Town Students’ Union said to have conduct “routine checking” on August 24 in Tobu town. During the check, the student leaders caught a person identified as Sanja Sah, hailing from Teok in Sonari of Assam, for being in possession of 10 cases of assorted liquor.
The accused was said to have been carrying the liquor in Bolero pick-up bearing the registration AS 04 AC 4917.
‘The seized liquor were (sic) later destroyed in presence of all the nongovernmental organizations in Tobu town including KNSK of Tobu town, Tobu Area Students’ Union and Adhoc Town Committee,’ the press release stated.
The union warned that any group or individual that is found involving in ‘any kinds of anti-social activities within its jurisdiction will be strictly dealt with and penalized’.
