Dimapur, April 16 (EMN): The Tobu District Demand Committee has refuted what it stated was a press statement of the Aboi District Demand Committee that appeared in some local newspapers on April 13 claiming the participation of the “KU units and students’ union” from Tobu and Mopong areas during the “Aboi district demand rally” that was held on April 12.
The committee issued a press release on Sunday stating a response to “Aboi renew their demand for upgradation to district headquarters’.
“The Tobu District Demand Committee would like to state that no representatives of KU and students’ union from the two units participated on the said rally and would like to request Aboi District Demand committee not to confuse people with such press statement,” the rejoinder stated.
“The Tobu District Demand Committee reaffirmed that the public of Tobu and Moka still united on the demand for the upgradation (sic) of SDPDB under Tobu and Mopung to that of district HQ, ever since, the public of both the units submitted its memorandum to GoN in the year 2006.”
