Tizit area on Tuesday, December 1, celebrated advent Christmas, organized by the Tizit Area Students’ Union (TASU). The event was conducted in Tizit town along with members of the Tizit town administration, and members of the business community and various nongovernmental organizations.
The union commemorated the season with an ‘advent Christmas celebration’ with Tizit’s Additional Deputy Commissioner Renabomo Odyuo.
ADC Odyuo also inaugurated the installation of street lights at Tizit town which was arranged by the Tizit town administration with the support from various business houses, schools and nongovernmental organizations.
In a press note issued by the TASU, the student organization extended its gratitude to the Tizit administration for installing 16 street lights at Tizit town which was a long need of the area.
While lauding such development brought at Tizit town, TASU has extended unconditional support and co-operation to the demand of the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) and Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) to hand over 19 roads under its jurisdiction to the Border Roads Organization from the Nagaland Public Works department.
In a press release on Wednesday, the leaders of the TASU said that their areas have for long been waiting ‘patiently with empathy towards the state government attitude, taking into consideration the financial crunch of the state.’
TASU’s president Manpang Wangyen stated that the state government had, however, ‘turned a deaf ear towards the long demand taking advantage of the public silence.’
Therefore, the TASU is ‘extending their unconditional support to the ENSF demand has appealed upon the state government to look into the matter at the earliest.’
