Dimapur, April 10 (EMN): The state government has requested the Tizit Area Students’ Union (TASU), “to review their decision and withdraw the intended blockage of Mon-Namtola Road” after assuring that repair works on said road would start in “about 2-3 weeks”.
The commissioner and secretary of Works and Housing on Monday issued a press statement informing that “repair works (IRQP) on Mon-Namtola Road (141-155 Km, 160-177 Km) will be taken up once the tender formalities are completed which will take about 2-3 weeks”.
It informed that the chief minister had on April 4 last committed an amount of Rs 5 crore for said project.
“The department has taken serious note of the delay in implementation of various works awarded to contractors under Tizit-Mon area and decided to review of all the road projects and necessary action will be initiated to resume these projects.
“In view of the above stated actions, the TASU is requested to review their decision and withdraw the intended blockage of Mon-Namtola road,” the statement read.
