Dimapur, July 7 (EMN): With an aim of reaching out to the people and fostering closer relationship through sports as a medium, the East Dimapur Sumi Youth Organisation (EDSYO), organised a 5 Men Futsal tournament from July 4 to 6 at A1 Powerplay, Darogapathar Village, Dimapur, Nagaland.
The tournament saw a record participation of 56 teams from all over Nagaland, Manipur and Assam. In the final match, Tizit FC from Tizit, Mon District, emerged as the champions edging out G. Sport FC with a score of 3-1 in a penalty shootout after both teams remained goalless after regulation time. In the individual category Awang of Powerplay A team was adjudged the Best Player of the tournament. David and Tingyeng Konyak, both from Tizit FC and Vizo from G. Sport were the highest scorers scoring six goals each. Lelenthung of Khunjung FC was adjudged the Best Goalkeeper. In the team category, Chawan FC was adjudged the Best Disciplined team.
