Dimapur, Jan. 27 (EMN): Thulun village under Pungro sub-division in Kiphire district was inaugurated on January 24, which was officially recognised by the state government on November 1, 2011. Thulun village, bifurcated from Zanger village, was inaugurated by ADC Pungro, Zakabo V Rotokha.
Speaking on the occasion as special guest, Zakabo encouraged the village council and public to coordinate and work cohesively in every aspect for the common good of the people and the society. He also appealed the villagers to cooperate with neighbouring villages and the administration for peace and unity to prevail in the area.
Marking the inauguration of the village, the special guest also unveiled the monolith.
Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) executive chairman, Shilimthong, called upon the village authority to maintain peace and unity in order usher in better infrastructure in the near future.
Musumong, Head GB of Pungro town, also encouraged the people to maintain unity among the people for development to come in the days to come.
Short speeches were also delivered by Tajingki, APRO, and the chairman of Zanger village council.
The programme was presided over by Asuthong Janger, while the invocation was pronounced by pastor of Thulun village and the welcome address was delivered by VCC Thulun village. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Shuven, 2nd Head GB of Thulun village.
