Mokokchung, Aug. 02 (EMN): The third edition of Throttle Thrust got underway with roaring engines and thrilling speed as racers rode through the tarmac road between Alichen and Longkhum in the Hillclimb category at Longkhum village in Mokokchung district.
The Hillclimb category was flagged off at Alichen 2nd Gate by H Khuhovi Sema, Commandant 2nd Battalion NAP, Alichen.
In a short inaugural programme, president of Spearhead Motorsports welcomed all participants and guests, while Alemwati, tatar of Longkhum village council gave short festive greetings.
Altogether 50 participants from Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya and Delhi participated in the Hillclimb category.
A press release issued by event convenor Limasenla Jamir stated that cash prizes worth INR 3 lakhs would be won with trophies and certificates.
The event is hosted at Longkhum village, which is one among the many tourist villages in Mokokchung. There would also be indigenous food and drink stalls, which is being managed by the people of Longkhum village, the release stated.
They participants will race again tomorrow in the Autocross category at Longkhum Village ground.
