
Dimapur, Dec. 11 (EMN): Three women namely Kinina Jimomi, Nilotoli Chishi and Tolinoka A Zhimo were conferred Dr. Toshevi Sümi Totimi MBBS Award during its 5th annual award ceremony held at Hotel Lavisto in Kohima on December 10. They were awarded for securing MBBS seat through the NEET 2022.
An update from organisers stated that Yikishe P Zhimo, joint director of Border Affairs, spoke on behalf of the families of the awardees, while Kavitoli Jakhalu, vice president of Kohima Sümi Totimi Hoho (KSTH), spoke on behalf of the organisation and Itoli Assumi, KSTH general secretary, prayed for the awardees.
It mentioned that Dr. Toshevi Sümi Totimi MBBS Award is an initiative of Dr. Toshevi Keditsu Sema, the first lady doctor from Sümi tribe of Nagaland. She completed her MBBS in the year 1977 from Guwahati Medical College.
This award was officiated by Dr. K&T Keditsu Foundation, in collaboration with Sümi Totimi Hoho, Nagaland. The award is presented annually to Sümi women who qualify to study graduate medical course (MBBS) through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in India. The award comprised of a certificate and cash prize of INR 2,00,000.
