IMPHAL, Nov. 15 (EMN): Three security personnel belonging to 5 Manipur Rifles Battalion were killed in a road accident in Manipur's Tamenglong district on Wednesday evening between 6-6.30 pm,reports said.
The incident took place when the vehicle of the security escort team of Adim Pamei, vice chairman of Manipur state disaster management authority fell into a deep gorge near Keikao village,20km away from the Tamenglong district headquarters.
The vice chairman was on his way back to Imphal after being part of the chief minister led ministerial team visit to Tamenglong. Three jawans of the escort vehicle carrying six personnel reportedly on the spot while three other sustained injuries.
Two of the injured persons were said to be critical. The deceased personnel are Havildar Somorjit Singh, Rifleman Dominic and Rifleman Kh. Bungo Singh.
