Dimapur, May 11 (EMN): Dimapur police has arrested three persons on various counts on May 10.
In the first instance, Dimapur police personnel arrested one person identified as Mrs Alhing Singson from Signal Bazaar, Lhomithi Colony, in possession of brown sugar worth INR 4,20,000. Police recovered 20 boxes containing brown sugar weighting 1700 grams.
A press release issued by additional commissioner of police and PRO stated that she has been arrested and a case in this connection has been registered for further investigation.
In another incident, Dimapur police has arrested two persons for involving in extortion from truck drivers and sand dealers near NRL petrol pump in Darogapathar area.
The accused persons have been identified as ‘ss’ Kughato (SO) of NSCN (U), a resident of Purana Bazaar, Dimapur; Zhehuto Aye (38) of Tichipami village and a resident of Purana Bazaar, Dimapur. Police personnel have recovered few coupons of demand slip from their possession.
Complaints in this connection has been registered and investigation is on.
In yet another incident, Dimapur police, on receiving a complaint report regarding snatching of an autorickshaw near DMC office, swung into action and recovered the autoriskshaw bearing registration No. NL07F-0058 from Balijan Assam. Case in this connection has been registered and investigation is going on to nab the culprits, police report stated.
PRO release further stated that all the accused have been lodged at different police stations. It added that investigation was on.
