Kohima, Nov 30 (EMN): 26-year-old Mikiyas Yemata, the winner of Bengaluru Marathon held recently along with other two runners from Ethiopia will compete in the 8th Hornbill Half Marathon, organised by 3E Nagaland as part of Hornbill Festival 2018 in collaboration with Tourism Department, Government of Nagaland on Dec. 2 at 7 am. A press release stated that was issued by the organising committee on Friday.
The start and finish venue will be New secretariat junction, Kohima.
Apart from the aforementioned African runners, others from different states and over hundred local runners will vie for the title that carries a cash prize of INR 50,000 for the winner, INR 20000, INR 10000 and INR 5000 for the second, third and fourth place.
It was also informed that all finishers will also receive completion certificates. The event will be officiated and certified by the Nagaland Athletics Officials Club (NAOC).
All registered runners are informed to collect their number bibs and baggage tags at the venue on Dec. 1 between 10:30 am to 4:30 pm. The reporting time on race day, that is Dec. 2 will be 6 am.
The public is also informed that strict traffic regulations will be enforced during the race along the New-secretariat road - High School Junction - High Court Junction Meriema - Tsiesema and back to New Secretariat via High Court Junction Meriema, the organising committee informed.
