Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): Three more samples were sent for suspected Covid-19 cases from Nagaland on Tuesday, according to an update from the government of Nagaland.
One of the government spokespersons on Covid-19, Minister for Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu informed that 25 samples have been sent for testing, out of which 22 had returned negative. Results for the three samples sent on Tuesday are awaited.
A total of 4704 persons have self-reported to the respective district surveillance teams and have been home quarantined, out of which 876 have completed quarantine period, he informed.
Kronu said another batch of medical equipment in the form of PPE kits, hand gloves, hand sanitiser, N95 masks, portable ventilator, ICU ventilator, full face mask etc., for Nagaland has been dispatched from Delhi to Guwahati, which will be transported by road to the state on Wednesday.
He also mentioned that 5000 litre of sodium hypochlorite, gloves and sanitisers have also been received from Guwahati.
Through the self-declaration app, a total of 3905 persons have self-registered with all the required information duly filled in; while 1165 persons have not completed their full details.
The total number of persons screened in the state till date is 36494. Kronu appealed to the citizens to continue to adhere to the lockdown measures in force and stay at home.
Further, he urged the people to strictly practice social distancing while shopping. He also informed that all kinds of gatherings are barred, including religious congregations during the lockdown period as mass gatherings have the potential of easily allowing the spreading of the virus, thereby putting the lives of many people in serious danger.
Therefore, all the faith-based organisations have been advised to completely refrain from holding any congregation of any kind, which may see gathering of a large number of people during the lockdown.
