Security forces in Bishnupur district, Manipur, arrested three drug smugglers and seized over 369 grams of heroin powder in two separate intelligence-based operations.

IMPHAL — Security forces arrested three drug smugglers and seized heroin powder during two separate intelligence-based search operations in Manipur’s Bishnupur district, police said.
It was stated in a press note that on August 16 one drug smuggler, identified as Md Arub Khan Ipham alias Khansa (26) of Kwakta Khuman Ward No. 5 (G’P), was apprehended from Kwakta Sabal Leikai along National Highway 2, Tiddim road, under Phougakchao Ikhai police station, Bishnupur district.
From his possession, 10 soap cases containing heroin powder weighing 113 grams, one four-wheeler, and one mobile handset along with a SIM card were seized.
Similarly, the security forces arrested two drug smugglers from Kwakta Terakhongsangbi Bazar along National Highway 2, Tiddim road, under Moirang Police Station, Bishnupur district, police said.

The arrested persons have been identified as Md Najeruddin, alias Babu Phisubam (42), and Md Altab, alias Boy Moijingmayum (31). Both are residents of Kwakta Ward No. 8, Bishnupur district.
From their possession, 22 soap cases containing heroin powder weighing 256 grams, one four-wheeler, and two mobile phones were seized, police added.
