DIMAPUR — The
24th Children’s Conference of the Zeme Baptist Church Council (ZBCC), Peren,
was held from December 13 to the 15th, hosted by Jalukie ‘B’ Baptist Church, on
the theme “Growing in Christ” (in the context of wisdom, love, righteousness,
and faith) based on Luke 2:52.
Thousands of delegates from ZBCC churches in Assam, Manipur,
and Nagaland attended the conference, stated an update.
The worship speakers included Dr. Rangro Herie, education
secretary of ZBCC, Peren; Idolule Putlang, children’s director of New Tesen
Baptist Church; Dr. Rampaukopoing Michui, executive secretary of ZBCC, Peren;
and Rev. Dr. Mongzeung Mpom, pastor of Jalukie Town Local Baptist Church.
The workshop speakers were Kelungzaiyile, women leader of
Jalukie ‘B’ Baptist Church, who spoke on mental wellness, and Igwangheing
Hemang, Superintendent of Police, Peren, who addressed substance abuse.
Competitions were also held on the occasion. The drama
competition, based on tradition, saw Peren Town Baptist Church take first
place, followed by Poilwa Baptist Church in second and Perenkipeuzang Baptist
Church in third.
In the Bible quiz competition, Heningkunglwa Baptist Church
secured first place, with Ngwalwa Baptist Church in second and Mhainamtsi
Baptist Church in third.
