Imphal, Nov. 2 (EMN): Change can be attained through educational reformation. The will to bring the change will bring positive change in the society, said the Minister for Education, Labour & Employment Thokchom Radheshyam on Friday.
Addressing the inaugural programme of the Imphal Jamboree - ‘Improving the State of Youth’ being held under the theme “Our Future; Our Responsibility” at the City Convention Centre in Imphal, the minister encouraged the youths to have dreams and envision achieving them for the change that they want to bring in the state.
The education system needs to give freedom of thought and innovation rather than binding the youth to the norm of memorizing. Therefore, the need of the hour is to inculcate in students and youths the ability of thinking and creativity, he said.
Prioritizing problems, proper use of time is important with positive attitude towards the goal is necessary mastering in their field to be successful, Radheshyam added.
The minister also launched the eco bag, a movement to fight against plastic pollution as an initiate of the Global Shapers Community, Imphal Hub.
Director Youth Affairs and Sports Armstrong Pame shared his experiences at the Young Global Leaders meet held in San Francisco. He said that the conclave was organised to inspire the young people to work together, driving dialogue action and change across societies. “It is never too late to start again after failure,” he stated.
The three-day event will see inspirational talks, workshops on vocational skills and start-up pitching competition.
The programme is being organised by the the Global Shapers Community of Imphal, an initiative of World Economic Forum.
Some eminent speakers of the event are Nattinee Dora Sae Ho, managing director/founder of Kid Hero; Bhawana Luthra, executive director of Leadership For Environment and Development, International; Deepjyoti Sonu Brahma, co-founder and director, of Farm2Food Foundation; Neichute Doule, CEO of Entrepreneur Associates; and many more.
