…no man having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62
All that we are entrusted with is an honour bestowed on us. Living to fulfill the purpose behind our existence is our gift unto our creator. We are who we are because we had been chosen to be what we are. The works we are involved in was started because of our passion for it. Celebrities are what they are because of what they chosed to be. A man can excel only in the things he loves doing. And a woman can succeed only when she puts her heart in the career or profession she is interested in. a man is what he is by the virtue of labor he puts in it.The blessings of prosperity is evidenced only in the lives of hard working people. Progress can never be expected unless the process of growth is evident. Neither development can be expected unless the signs of it are shown. The very things we expect becomes a reality when we whole heartedly walk towards it. The works in which many men and women are involved in are characterized by what their profession demands or expects of them. The profession in which they involve themselves in becomes a part of them. The high ranking officials become what they are because they worked hard to be at the top. The way they were promoted to a higher level was the result of their efficiency in the things they were involved in. they wouldn’t have been successful if they had left their work half way. In the same way the servants of God wouldn’t be worthy of the kingdom of God if they forsake the one they had been serving.
Inspite of knowing the consequences involved in becoming a follower of Christ, many men and woman take the pledge to be faithful to the faith they profess to follow. Ministry workers become what they are because of their passion in doing what they love. But as the Word makes it clear that a building without a firm foundation will crumble which is very relevant to what many Christians are today. If the stance we take in Christ are not adhered by we become one in spirit with those backslidden spiritual leaders. Those who are weak willed begins drifting away from the commands of the Word and becomes one in spirit with the world.
The way Christ had to suffer to make a way for us to go to the Father vividly portrays the difficult journey we have to endure. The blood, the tears and the pain was what made us legitimate children of God. The choices we make in life should be justified by our allegiance to it. It is important that we make the right choice but it is also equally important that we live by the choices we make. Choosing the good things in life characterizes our inner beauty. The Word makes it clear to us that the kingdom of God is only for those who keeps on walking towards it. If you decide to visit a certain place you can reach your destination only if you keep walking towards it.
In this ministry of Christ, sacrifice, endurance and perseverance are essential to effective in carrying out the task assigned. What ever has been been started should be completed. A person becomes a follower of Christ at his or her own free will. In the same way a person chooses to become a servant of Christ because of his or her belief in Him. If you are not a man of your word, you can never expect to become a servant of God.
Being servants of God if we become radically aggressive through the power of the spirit, we can be assured of victory. Whatever your ministry is you have to prove faithful to the trust you are bestowed with. Its all about knowing who you are and carrying out your responsibilities. No matter whatever the circumstances may be, you have to fight till the end. You started your work and you know what its like to be in the ministry. But to know how its like to be in the kingdom of God you have to continue doing what you do. Faith and trust are what you have and a determined spirit is what you need to possess. Waver and falter not, just continue doing what you do. All that you do will not be in vain if you remain faithful to the trust bestowed. All that you do for Him will be your gain if you remain faithful to Him. It has been made known that we may learn from it. The logic is simple. We abide by it, we get blessed. We live by it we will be rewarded. Its just a matter of knowing who we are and what we are supposed to do. Knowing our responsibilities and carrying out our duties compliments the grace given unto us. It will be by the virtue of knowing who we are in Christ that will determine what we will be in Christ. It’s a race, it’s a war and the more you live by it (Word) the stronger you will become. The stronger you are the more powerful you will be. Doing what you have to do signifies the legacy Christ has left behind. This is your calling. This is your responsibilities. Carry it out without complaining. Your worth as a member of the International Church of Christ will be determined by what you do now.
