DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Folkloric, a cultural troupe from the state participated at the recently concluded 10th Samvaad Festival 2023 held in Jamshedpur on Nov. 18.
An update from Task Force of Music and Arts (TaFMA) informed that the team from Nagaland took part at the festival as per the MoU signed between TATA Steel Foundation’s, Samvaad Festival (a sister festival partner of Hornbill Festival) and Task Force of Music and Arts (TaFMA) in the year 2022.
A total of 29 artistes performed series of to the performances including: Alu Yimer (a duet in Ao dialect), Ama (Earth Dance), Wanghe Ongching (A Konyak folk song in fusion), Mungmung (A contemporary Sangtam song in Sangtam dialect), Janjara (a musical Cultural Dance depicting different Naga traditional games) and the grand finale with The Nagaland Folkloric.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]This is said to be the second time artistes from Nagaland participated at the festival under TaFMA.
The artistes from Samvaad will also be participating at this year’s Hornbill Music Festival, the update informed.
For all the successes achieved thus far, TaFMA expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio and his government for giving special attention to the needs and growth of the youth of the state.
TaFMA in the update also expressed gratitude to the Tata Steel Foundation and SAMVAAD Festival for the experience.
