Prayer is a means of communication with God. It is not a ritual. It’s a form of relationship with our creator. Everything that is given unto us is a gift and every trust that is bestowed upon us is an honour. Sometimes we fail to acknowledge the grace bestowed upon us. The very reason behind it is because we fail to put Him first in our lives. What we don’t acknowledge is the gift presented to us. Every relationship and activities we enjoy is a gift. The very thing which keeps us connected with God is prayer. The very reason we make our request and petitions made known to Him is for the fulfillment of our dreams and aspirations. Prayer isn’t all about asking. Its also about renewing our relationship with our Lord. I often say that I believe in the power of prayer. I wouldn’t have said it had I not witnessed and felt the power of the spirit at work in me and through the lives of many. When I asked a friend what prayer meant to her. She replied by saying that prayer was what kept her going. The good thing about the gift of prayer is that we get to communicate with the one we trust and worship.
Prayer is the only means which can stop us from falling into temptation. What food is to the body prayer is to the soul. What a baby is to the mother, prayer is to the beneficiary.
A Christian girl was once asked by an unbeliever as to what made her happy. Her immediate reply was that the love of the Lord was what made her happy. She testified that the silent moments she spent in prayer was the reason behind all that she was. Inspired by what her life was, the unbeliever ultimately became a staunch follower of the person she professed to worship. Her prayer life not only kept her contented but it led to the salvation of an unbeliever. No one will know what prayer is all about unless he or she believes in the power of it. You won’t know how a curry tastes like until and unless you taste it. Its all about experiencing how its like to be able to know what its like. Without the knowledge of the Word in you the Spirit of truth can never be in you. In the same way you won’t believe what prayer can do unless you believe in the power of it. What is given unto us is a gift.
The moments you spend in silence can be the defining moment of your life. What we get through prayer are peace solace and contentment. The gifts which we are bestowed with are supposed to make our spiritual life more meaningful. What we ought to know is that prayer is the pathway to intimacy with the Father. This special gift can be used for the good of humanity and for the betterment of your spirituality. If you believe in the power of prayer you can be empowered through it. Your worth as a follower of the Word is measured by the number of times you pray. The prayer life you live can safe guard the gift of salvation which you are endowed with. This gift was given unto us that we may be one in Him.What is given unto us should be used well lest we be accused for our negligence of it. A praying Church is what the Church of Christ is all about. This Church of Christ can grow according to the number of times its members in prayer. This gift of prayer is made complete by what we are in Christ.
