DIMAPUR — Three fighters from The Combat Academy, Nagaland, competed at the first edition of Manipur Pride: Rise of Warriors, a mixed martial arts (MMA) event held at the Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium, Imphal, on April 11.
The event featured a mix of professional and semi-professional bouts, showcasing emerging and established talent in the region, stated an update.
Thanmi Angkang competed in a professional bout against Rajat Diwedi from Pune, securing a submission victory in the third round.

Imkummendang Ozukum, stepping in on short notice as a replacement for Lichonthung Lotha, who had to withdraw due to a training injury, fought in a bout. Despite a spirited and competitive performance, he lost via a “controversial split” decision, a result that drew mixed reactions from the crowd.
Shanchui Zimik, originally from Manipur and having completed his training camp at The Combat Academy, competed in a professional bout and delivered a first-round knockout victory over Manish Kumar from Delhi, securing a decisive finish early in the fight.
