The present discriminating or tribalism conflict is a by-product of fratricidal conflict in the past. Had there been no political division or fratricidal conflict among the Nagas, joining or inclusion of a Naga tribe in the Naga National Movement is a matter of joy for all of the Nagas. But unfortunately, the Nagas split into several divisions or factions and killing one another took place for years together. So many of the present controversial issues are cropped up out of hatred and un-reconciled attitude.
In the beginning of the Naga National Movement, there were some opposition in certain villages which led to killings. But after some years all were reconciled and became one and the trauma was no longer mentioned any time. For the Nagas as a whole, some tribes had been indifferent or even were opposed to but at last all realised and came to join the freedom movement as one fold. So the question of discrimination or tribalism does not arise. All together have sacrificed their times and lives for the National cause.
Frankly speaking, some ones are opposed to the inclusion of the Tangkhuls.Z.Ramyo was a Tangkhul and when a ceasefire agreement was signed between the GoI and the NNC/FGN in 1964 and there was a Round Table Conference for settlement between the GoI and the NNC/FGN Ramyo was one of the Naga delegates. In 1946 when an NNC/FGN general meeting was held at Viswema, Th Muivah was elected to be the General Secretary of NNC with unanimity. Gen. Thinoselie M.Keyho and Muivah with a team of Naga Army were sent to China. They had to trek to China with venture.
If anything is done right, it is to be appreciated and if anything is done wrong, it is to be blamed. As far as inclusion of the Tangkhuls in the Naga National Movement is concerned, there is no question of discrimination against them or any other Nagas who committed and sacrificed their lives for the Nagas. Truth and justice does not allow any sober Nagas to question the right of the ongoing talk between the GoI and the NSCN(I-M) and the leadership of Th.Muivah in the present political scenario.
