Dimapur, Oct. 14 (EMN): In compliance with the directive of the Rural Development Department, Thahekhu Village Development Board (VDB) and Thahekhu Village Council (TVC) have successfully organised a sanitation campaign in the village under Mission Antyodaya from October 8-12.
On October 8, health day was organised by creating awareness on health issues by roping in staff of Sub Health Centre, who conducted health check-ups. Veterinary staff also participated during the programme.
On October 9, cleanliness drive was conducted in each and every household and compounds in the village.
On October 10, plantation drive was carried out in schools, colleges, offices and other institutions within the village by distributing tree saplings. Cleanliness drive was also conducted simultaneously.
On October 11, a separate plantation drive was carried out in collaboration with Thahekhu Sumi Totimi Hoho at Thahekhu cemetery and village surroundings and on October 12, a mass social work was conducted in the entire village where drains and garbage were cleaned.
