Dimapur, Aug 13 (EMN)): Tetso College today clarified on a news item related with one of its students who was involved in an altercation on Aug. 9 2018 which was carried in the Aug. 12 edition of this paper.
A clarification issued by the principal of Tetso college, Dr. P. S. Lorin stated that the mentioned incident involved some outsiders who had an altercation with a student of the college.
The college stated that theincident did not occur within the college campus ‘but on a public road between Sovima village and Unity village approach road near the college vicinity.
The release stated that the student was manhandled outside the campus. The college management, police and Sovima Youth Organisation members arrived and intervened to diffuse the ‘volatile situation’. It informed that the injured student was immediately taken to the CIHSR hospital ‘by the college authorities. Saying that the college is against any act of violence, the release prayed for the student and also sought ‘speedy resolution of the issue by the police and all the parties involved in the unfortunate incident’.
It may be mentioned here that on Aug. 12, the Aghunato Range Kuposhukulu Dimapur comdemned the assault on one Kawoto Yepthomi by some people in Dimapur.
