Dimapur, April 22 (EMN): A new Sub-Centre under the department of Health & Family Welfare was inaugurated at Tenyiphe-I village by I. Himato Zhimomi, principal secretary of H&FW, on April 22.
Zhimomi, the chief guest of the event, informed the gathering that the “government is now prioritising preventive measures at the Sub-Centre level unlike in the past, where the health centre focused on the curative aspects,” according to a press release from DIPR. He further informed that “all Sub-Centres will be upgraded to Health & Wellness Centres where disease prevention will be prioritised.”
Besides physical wellness, psychological wellness of a patient will also be taken care of, said Zhimomi, adding that until new staff is appointed, those working in other health units in the district might be adjusted and redeployed to Tenyiphe-I village Sub-Centre to ensure that it starts functioning at the earliest.
Dr. K.Vikato Kinimi, chief medical officer, Dimapur, stated that the immediate requirement of the new Sub-Centre is to appoint health workers and post them. He assured that the District Health department, with the help state officials, will make the health unit functional at the earliest once the staff is posted.
Head GB of Tenyiphe village Nolesa Zhotso and Chairman of Tenyiphe VC Helie Kruse also spoke at the event which was chaired by VDB Secretary K. James Yalie. Zhimomi unveiled the Tenyiphe-I village Sub-Centre plaque earlier during the programme.
Other officials, who attended the function, include Dr. Antoly Suu, Dy.CMO, Dr. Rebecca, Dr. Imtiwabong, Dr. Chem, Dr. Heto, Shri. Kikolul, DPMU staff and BPM Chumoukedima.
