Dimapur, July 14: Tenyiphe-I Community Building Chümoukedima, constructed under VDB funds was inaugurated on July 8 with B.D.O Chümoukedima Block, K. Yamao Konyak as chief guest and Chümoukedima Village Council chairman, Razouvoto Chatsu as guest of honour.
In his speech, the chief guest congratulated the villagers on their achievement and expressed his appreciation for exhibiting unity and judicious utilization of VDB funds. He said, unlike other departments where benefits of projects and schemes go to a few selected beneficiaries, the Department of Rural Development with its various developmental schemes and programs are reaching to the grassroots through the village councils and VDBs. Also disclosing that the R.D is a department with the most centrally sponsored schemes within its ambit, he challenged the villagers to get maximum benefit from such schemes by working together with transparency and unity.Earlier, in his exhortation, the guest of honor, Razouvoto Chatsu, Chümoukedima Village Council chairman expressed his happiness at the achievement of the Tenyiphe-I village in completing the community building which is first of its kind among the Chakhroma Angami villages with the little assistance received from the government by way of grant-in-aid.
Stating that Chümoukedima is developing at a very fast pace being declared the district head quarters, he said, the building has added another beauty to the town. He exhorted the Tenyiphe villagers to uphold the values of unity, trust, transparency and honesty which are the essence for a peaceful and developing society.
The simple yet impressive program was chaired by Helie Kruse, VCC. It began with invocation by Razouvolie Vimero, Pastor, Tenyiphe-I Baptist Church. Welcome address was delivered by K. James Yalie, VDB Secretary while Kelhouwheto Senotsu, Convenor, Building Construction Committee gave a brief report and the program concluded with vote of thanks pronounced by Nolesa Zhotso, Hd. G.B. Tenyiphe-I village.
